Indications for Receiving the "New" Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Vaccine:                                        

The "New" COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Vaccines add Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 spike protein components to restore protection against the Omicron variants. A single booster dose of the "New" Pfizer or ModernaCOVID-19Bivalent Vaccine may be administered at least 2 months after either:  1)The completion of your Primary Vaccination Series or  2)After receiving your most recent booster shot you had using any of the "original" authorized/approved COVID-19 Monovalent Vaccines.                                                                                                                                              >Pfizer Bivalent Booster is available to those 12 years and older                                                                             >Moderna Bivalent Booster is available for those 18 years and older                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The original COVID-19 Vaccine Primary Series consists of a two-shot sequence using one of the original authorized/approved Monovalent COVID-19 Vaccines.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Those who recently had a COVID-19 infection or a SARS-CoV-2 infection (within the last 3 months) may consider delaying their next booster dose by 3 months from the onset of symptoms or a positive test for COVID-19 if the infection was asymptomatic.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Vaccine is currently indicated as a booster regardless of what Primary Series Vaccine was received.
